National Population census can no longer hold this year as earlier projected by the National Population Commission, NPC.
Chairman of the Commission, Eze Duruiheoma, has attributed this to the non-conclusion of Enumeration Area Demarcation, an important pre-census exercise.
Eze explained that progress of the Enumeration Area Demarcation exercise was largely hampered due to paucity of funds.
With one hundred and three Local Government Areas demarcated for the main population census, six hundred and seventy one Local Government Areas are still left untouched.
According to him, the Enumeration Area Demarcation was estimated to gulp twenty two point five billion naira in the 2015 budget and two point four billion naira has been so far expended.
