The new Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, Professor Mojisola Adeyeye yesterday resumed duties with a commitment to lead the Agency toward eliminating substandard foods and drugs in the country.
Adeyeye explained that though NAFDAC has made steady progress in protecting the health of the nation, over the years, the Agency under her administration will continue to ensure the health of all Nigerians and foreigners residing in Nigeria.
The DG lamented that majority of Nigerians have concerns over safety of drugs, food, medical devices and water, and have little knowledge of the chemicals that are just as deadly.
She said this was the reason why she had come to ensure that NAFDAC lives up to its responsibility of eliminating falsified and unsafe drugs, medical devices, foods and water in Nigeria.
